The current state of the handling of spent coal slag (CCR – Coal Combustion Residue) may be changing soon (Dec. 19, 2014 ruling).
A federal judge mandated regulation ruling by the Federal EPA is coming soon, after over four years past the original proposal.
The EPA has until Dec 19th, based on a court order, to rule on the final regulation and we will finally know the answer to this question:
Will Coal Slag waste be considered Hazardous Waste?
